Narita Airport

Narita International Airport covers an area of 1,172 hectares and has three terminals. In addition to wheelchair access within this vast facility, we also provide information on barrier-free transport for arrival at the facility and departure to the city center, as well as electric carts and self-driving carts to assist caregivers.

Barrier-free level

Physically, the person is at a level where they can fully operate a wheelchair and move around, such as with lower limb paralysis.
In terms of facilities, there are some challenges, such as stairs and slopes within a certain range, but they are at a level where they can be used independently in a wheelchair.


Features of movement in each terminal

Terminal 1: There are a total of 49 toilets and 48 multi-function toilets(5th floor:3/4th floor:9/3rd floor:16/2nd floor:5/1st floor:1/1st basement floor:2/Domestic flight area:4) in the 1st passenger terminal building.
The floor is flat and elevators are available on every floor.
Terminal 2:There are a total of 57 toilets and 37 multi-function toilets(5th floor:3/4th floor:2/3rd floor:13/2nd floor:4/1st floor:8/1st basement floor:4/Domestic flight area:3) in the second passenger terminal building.
The floor is flat and elevators are available on every floor.
Terminal 3:There are a total of 13 multi-function toilets(3rd floor:3/2nd floor:7/1st floor:3) in the 3rd passenger terminal building.
The floor is flat and elevators are available on every floor.

Terminal shuttle bus in the pre-security area

The terminal shuttle bus is a free shuttle bus that runs between Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3 at Narita Airport and Higashi-Narita Station.
There are three routes: a bus that circulates between all terminals, a bus that circulates between T1 and T2, and a bus that circulates between T2 and T3.
The bus that circulates between all terminals runs in the order of T1 (Terminal 1), T3 (Terminal 3), and T2 (Terminal 2). It takes about 14 minutes between T1 and T3, about 3 minutes between T3 and T2, and about 10 minutes between T2 and T1.
The bus that circulates between T1 and T2 takes about 10 minutes between T1 and T2, and about 10 minutes between T2 and T1.
The bus that circulates between T2 and T3 takes about 6 minutes between T2 and T3, and about 3 minutes between T3 and T2.
All buses are step-free, so wheelchair users can board.
You can also travel on foot between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 via the access walkway.It takes approximately 13 minutes from the ticket gates of Airport Terminal 2 Station to the information counter in the departure lobby on the 2nd floor of Terminal 3, and from the information counter in the arrival lobby on the 1st floor of Terminal 3 to the ticket gates of Airport Terminal 2 Station.

Autonomous Driving Services in the post-security area

After passing through passport control at Terminals 1 and 2, a free transportation service using the autonomous mobility vehicle "WHILL" is provided in the international departure area.
Terminal 1: Post-immigration area, all areas except Satellite 1
Terminal 2: Post-immigration area, connecting passageway, gates 80 and 90.

Electric cart Services in the post-security area

In the post-passport control areas of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, we provide electric cart services for customers who require assistance, such as people with disabilities, elderly people, and people traveling with children.
Departing passengers: Please speak to the nearest information counter or the electric cart driver directly.
Arriving passengers: Please speak to the electric cart driver directly. (We will be waiting for you at the start of the operating area.)(Currently out of service)

Barrier-free transport for arrival at the facility and departure

We will provide you with information on transportation from each city to the airport and from the airport to each city.

Railway

Terminal 1 is a 5-minute walk from Narita Airport Station, while Terminals 2 and 3 are a 5-minute and 10-minute walk respectively from Airport Terminal 2 Station.
JR East (Narita Express, JR Lines) is convenient for accessing Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and the western Tokyo areas, while Keisei Electric Railway (Skyliner, Access Express, Keisei Main Line) is convenient for accessing Asakusa, Ueno, Nippori, and Ikebukuro.

Airport Limousine Bus

Please note that our buses are not low-floor (non-step) buses, so passengers using wheelchairs cannot board the bus. If you are using a foldable wheelchair, it will be stored in the luggage compartment and you will be able to board a regular vehicle.
Please note that we may not be able to store electric wheelchairs, so please be sure to contact us in advance.

Taxi

If you are using a wheelchair, please speak to a member of staff at the taxi stand. If you are able to board a waiting vehicle, the staff will assist you.
If you would like a special wheelchair-accessible vehicle, one can also be called for you.
If you are boarding a taxi that you have arranged yourself, please meet at the general vehicle pick-up and drop-off area or in the parking lot.
